Color: Very bright garnet red.
Nose: Small red berries are dominant – currants, wild cherries and raspberries. A hint of dry flower and nutmeg emerges in between the layers of fruit.
Palate: A juicy wine, well balanced subtle tannins with a sensation of sweetness from the red berry flavours.
A challenging year with harsh weather conditions, including hail and late frost, led to a small amount of available fruit. The quality of this remaining fruit was pleasingly generous and the resulting wines of very good quality.
80% Tank, 20% French Oak barriques. Traditional technique is used to make this burgundy - two to three weeks of fermentation and maceration with controlled temperature. A portion of the blend is aged in oak to increase the complexity.
